Hitec celebrates 30th anniversary and share special offers with customers

This month, Ask Hitec is celebrating its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of quality fork lift hire and an unrivalled service to customers in Northamptonshire, its surrounding areas and across the UK. With Andrew Selbie and Prospero Girardi at the helm, Hitec has grown from humble beginnings to owning a fleet of over 400 trucks with a customer base of 4,000 and a rapidly expanding workforce. Hitec have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Cesab spanning over two decades, and are one of the leading exclusive Cesab dealers.

Alongside his business partner Andrew Selbie, co-founder Prospero Girardi has seen the business through some challenging times over its 30 year history but is proud of the success achieved by the entire team. “We started the business not entirely sure where it would take us, along the way there have been several economical challenges, such as the recessions which of course were tough, but with our fantastic team consistently providing a quality service to customers, we’re stronger than ever.”

From early beginnings, co-founders Andrew Selbie and Prospero Girardi have significantly grown the company’s workforce, moved premises three times and expanded rapidly as the business continues to grow. In response to this growth, the premises recently underwent an extensive refurbishment which included new sales offices and workshops.

“There has been a large investment in the premises, making sure that we provide a nice, clean, pleasant working environment for our engineers and providing them with the technology they need to do the best job they can, meeting the high standards of Cesab and of our customers.

“Alongside that, we have invested in new offices for the sales team, giving them a comfortable, modern space in which to work, and we’ve refurbished the parts and stores department. We firmly believe that if you provide comfortable surroundings and you’re a good company, you keep your workforce happy and a happy workforce is a productive workforce,” said Andrew Selbie.

In a bid to be recognised for their ongoing dedication to customer service, Hitec were awarded the ASEC accreditation (After Sales Service Evaluation & Certification) for their commitment to increased efficiency, quality and Environmental Policies.The accreditation offers customers an assurance of quality and transparency in everything from the training of engineers to the disposal of waste products. The pair invested heavily in obtaining the accreditation which currently stands at Bronze but is certain to rise to Silver level when their latest audit is finalised.

As well as the investment in their premises and the ASEC accreditation, Hitec continue to invest annually on casual hire fleet vehicles to ensure their customers have access to the latest models in the industry. As well as outright sales, Hitec also provides equipment on long term lease hire and short-term hire so that customers can get easy access to extra or replacement equipment should they need it. Such is the demand for short-term hire, Hitec last year acquired an articulated lorry to handle deliveries of machines to customers, and it currently looking into adding a second lorry to cope with demand.
